Before the Kettle Boils — My Next Book Is Live on Kickstarter
I’ve been sitting on this for a while now — quietly writing, rewriting, and figuring out what I wanted this next book to be.
Before the Kettle Boils is a collection of poetry, aphorisms, and short prose. It’s about all the things we don’t always know how to say: survival, loneliness, that quiet ache you carry around when life doesn’t quite go the way you imagined. Some pieces are brutally honest. Some are soft. Some are things I wrote un my phone notes and never planned to show anyone.
And now I’m finally releasing it into the world.
For the first time ever, I’m using Kickstarter to help fund the initial print run. I’m producing up to 500 limited edition hardbacks, each one signed and numbered, with black sprayed edges and illustrations throughout. Once these are gone, they won’t be reprinted in this form.
I’ve also decided to work with a cover designer I’ve admired for years — someone whose work I know will bring the right energy to this book. But it’s not cheap. Which is why I’m asking for your help.
If my writing has ever meant something to you — or if you just want to own a beautifully crafted, honest piece of art — I’d love for you to check out the campaign.

Even if you can’t pledge, sharing it makes a huge difference.
This book means a lot to me. And I really hope it finds its people.
Thank you,
Alex
